Lena Dunhamis back with a brand new show! TheToo Muchcreator worked with her husband,Luis Felber,to tell a fictionalized version of their love story in the new Netflix series. But Dunham has also beenanswering questionsabout her first beloved series:Girls. The HBO comedy featured Dunham as Hannah, a young woman living in New York City trying to figure out her life. Which did include dating Adam (Adam Driver) and some “good soup.“One of the most beloved characters on the series, though, is Shoshanna, played byZosia Mamet.
When talking with theNot Skinny But Not Fatpodcast, Dunham spoke about a character fromGirlsshe loved the most and who she’d want to revisit in a spin-off series. “I love Shoshanna,” she said. “I am on record as saying she is my favorite girl… I thinkShoshanna is going places.” Dunham praised Mamet for her work on the series, saying she was “such a joy to watch” throughout the show’s run and even went on to tease the possibility of a future with Shoshanna.

“So if there was like the right context for us to do it, I’d be f—— thrilled,” she said. “And also to do anything with her…we’ve all just kicked around jokingly where they would be now. She’d be so brilliant at revisiting it, and I just miss it and I miss her,” Dunham said, hinting thatshe’d be “in"if a spin-off came to be.
Zosia Mamet Has Been Trying To Get Lena Dunham To Bring Shoshanna Back
Mamet was also on the podcast earlier this year when she revealed that she’d been pushing for a series as well. “I’m trying to get Lena to write a Shosh spin-off,” she told the podcast. “I’ve been, like, slowly working on her. We’ll see. She seems receptive.” The ending ofGirlsleftShoshanna’s life a bit up in the airwith a proposal to a man that fans hadn’t yet met. So there is the potential there for something fun and whether that means that Hannah, Marnie (Allison Williams), and Jessa (Jemima Kirke) make an appearance is up in the air. But the fact that Dunham’s new series is at 83% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Fresh score might lead to more projects for the actor, writer, and director.
