The White LotusSeason 3 has now officially come to a close, but there have been some varying opinions between critics and audiences. Afteran explosive finale in Thailand,The White LotusSeason 3 has come to rest with scores of 87% from critics and 80% from audiences on the aggregate siteRotten Tomatoes. This marks the lowest rating ever from critics — Season 1 earned a 90% and Season 2 earned a 94% — but the highest rating for general audiences, who gave both Seasons 1 and 2 a 77%. One of the most common complaints about Season 3 is that things were too drawn out, with the series now moving up to eight episodes and also featuringa finale with a 90-minute runtime, longer than some movies.
Once the dust settled, it was Rick (Walton Goggins) and Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) who paid the ultimate price inThe White LotusSeason 3 finale. After Rick once again confronts the man he thinks killed his father, he shoots him before quickly learning that the man was his father. This ignites a vicious firefight that leads to Chelsea being caught in the crossfire, and Rick ultimately dies at the hands of Gaitok (Tayme Thapthimthong), who proves he can do what’s necessary to protect the hotel. Timothy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs) makes plans to kill everyone in his family except Lochlan (Sam Nivola) withthe poisonous tree fruit, but he can’t go through with it, and everyone survives after a close call with Lochey. The three BFF’s, Jaclyn, Kate, and Laurie make it through relatively unscathed, along with Belinda and her son, Zion.
