One of the most anticipated comic book sequels of all-time just got an exciting new look. Theofficial Joker Folie news X accounthas unveiled the first clip forJoker: Folie à Deux, which is set to premiere at the Venice International Film Festival before arriving in theaters worldwide in just over one month on October 4. The clip shows Harley Quinn (Lady Gaga) meeting the Joker (Joaquin Phoenix) in Arkham Asylum, as she remarks about how much she enjoyed watching him kill Murray Franklin (Robert De Niro) in the original movie. The sequel will see Phoenix return to the role of Arthur Fleck that won him his first Oscar in 2019, along withZazie Beetzreprising her role of Sophie Dumond in the sequel, which was written byScott Silverand directed byTodd Phillips, who also has credit for the screenplay.
WhereJoker 2will be truly different is with its new characters, highlighted most of all by Lady Gaga entering the comic book movie world to playthe legendary Harley Quinn. Harley Quinn has long been an associate of the Joker in DC Comics and has appeared in several live-action movies already, being portrayed by the lovelyMargot Robbie, but Gaga’s Harley looks to be entirely different from anything we’ve seen before.Joker: Folie à Deuxhas also tapped several big names, such as Oscar-nomineesCatherine Keener,Brendan Gleeson, andSteve Cooganall coming on board for the sequel, but it’s unclear as of now exactly what role they’ll play in the sequel.
