The Beach Bumcomes from the mind ofHarmony Korine, who channeledJames Franco’s entire James Franco-ness into one of film’s most memorable sleazeballs in 2012’sSpring Breakers. The writer/director seems to be taking a similar route for this new neon-lit odyssey-by-the-ocean, harnessing that laidback pre-McConaissance charm into something spectacular. Because of course,Snoop Doggco-stars as a man named Lingerie, as doesMartin Lawrenceas the incredibly-named Captain Wack.Zac Efronis also on-board, with the poster confirming the fact that hewillbe hitting a vape while wearing a Japanese Hachimaki.
Thefirst trailerforThe Beach Bumwas certainly something, with McConaughey’s wardrobe alternating between on-brand Hawaiian tees, flowy pink robes, and, uh, nothing, and I personally cannot wait to see more footage for whatever it is that Korine has sparked up here.
