Months beforeSpy x FamilySeason 3 airs on Crunchyroll,Funkohas added another character to this anime’s figure collection. But unlike its previous releases, where it featured the Forger Family, this latest figure is Anya’s plush toy - Penguin, a doll that she received from her adopted father, Loid Forger, back in Season 1.
Pop! Penguin with Stitches is a Pop figure variant of Anya’s penguin plush, where, during the events of Season 1, the family dog, Bond, destroyed it out of jealousy. Loid repaired it as Anya didn’t want to get a replacement, but after being shocked that Penguin’s new appearance looked “kind of Frankenstein-y,” her father stated that the plushie’s injuries were honorable and nothing worth being ashamed of. This figure has a listed price of $14.99, and it’s an exclusive on the Funko website. Pre-orders are still closed and will open at a later date.
Penguin inSpy x Familyis a large penguin plush toy that Loid won for Anya during a family trip to the Berlint Aquarium. While this doll doesn’t have a significant role in the show, it provides a lot of happiness for Anya. This is the second time Anya’s penguin plush has been turned into a Funko figure.During its first drop, Penguin was part of an Anya Pop! Plus figure, where the young child was hugging the doll. Unfortunately, this variant is no longer listed on the Funko website, but it is still available in some third-party outlets.
What’s ‘Spy x Family’ About?
Spy x Familyis an anime based on the ongoing manga series by Tatsuya Endo, which follows a fictional family where each member has a secret identity. Loid Forger (Alex Organ), a loving father and psychiatrist, is a spy under the codename Twilight, Yor Forger (Natalie Van Sistine), a loving mother and office clerk at city hall is secretly an assassin, Anya Forger (Megan Shipman), an energetic child who’s also a telepath, and Bond (Tyler Walker), the family dog who can see into the future. Loid’s current assignment isOperation: Strix, a mission to get close to political figure, Donovan Desmond, to ensurepeace continues between the two countries, Ostania and Westalis.Season 2ends with Loid and Bond finally getting along, even if Loid is unaware of Bond’s abilities, as the family dog was able to reassure its place as an important member of the Forger family.
