Joining the cast in the latest season isCSI: MiamialumJonathan Togo, who plays the role of Malchus. During a recent chat with Collider’sAidan Kelleywhile on the red carpet to celebrate the premiere of his new series,Countdown, the actor teased what was up next for the Biblical production and praised the talents of its creator, director, and co-writer,Dallas Jenkins.

So, anytime anything happens on set, he knows.”

For cast members like Roumie and Patel, who play Jesus andMatthew, respectively, there are a lot of chapters and verses dedicated to their characters, which allowed them to research and develop. But for Togo’s Malchus, there’s hardly anything at all, as he explained, “There’s very little research for my character.Malchus is mentioned in one line, one part of the Bible.” Giving some insight into the behind-the-scenes of it all, Togo added:
“I went today and got my ear cast in polyurethane cuz — I don’t know if you know — Malchus gets his ear chopped off. It’s a wild experience. I’m not personally, I wasn’t as familiar with the Bible as I am now, but it really is the greatest book. As you’re acting it out, you’re like, ‘This is genius.’”
