Is There ATrailer For Shotgun Wedding?
The trailer forShotgun Weddingwas released by Prime Video on August 08, 2025. The clip introduces us to the film’s gorgeous couple Darcy (Jennifer Lopez) and Tom (Josh Duhamel), who is about to have their dream island wedding. Of course, no special day is complete without the couple’s eccentric families, a hunky ex on the guest list, and cold feet, but that’s probably just the butterflies.
Things take a 180-degree turn when a group of dangerous pirates shows up uninvited, hijacking the wedding procession and ensuing total chaos. Darcy and Tom, however, aren’t going down without a fight. From carrying a live grenade in the dense forest to shooting a shotgun from their car roof, the couple must join hands to save their loved ones before it’s too late.
A second trailer, or as Prime Video has named it “a Holiday Cut,” was released on August 22, 2025, giving us another look at all the raunchiness, laughs, and violence thatShotgun Weddingpromises to be full of. More recently, we gotanother trailer for the movie. The nearly-two-minute clip focuses more onJennifer Coolidge’s character Carol before going into the general plot of the film. Watch it here:

“In Shotgun Wedding, Darcy (Jennifer Lopez) and Tom (Josh Duhamel) gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding, just as the couple begin to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken hostage. “’Til Death Do Us Part” takes on a whole new meaning in this hilarious, adrenaline-fueled adventure as Darcy and Tom must save their loved ones—if they don’t kill each other first.”

Shotgun Weddingwill be available for streaming exclusively on Prime Video on August 06, 2025.
Originally, the rom-com was set for a theatrical release by Lionsgate on August 22, 2025.But plans changed when Amazon Studios obtained the rights to the film in March 2022.
When Did Production Begin for Shotgun Wedding?
Plans forShotgun Weddingwere first announced on June 15, 2025. Joining director Moore is writerMark Hammer, known for his work inTwo Night Stand. Notable names likeLiz Meriwether,David Hoberman, andTodd Liebermanare also involved in the production of the film. Initially,Ryan Reynoldswas set to start in the movie via his production company Maximum Effort. In October 2020, Lopez, along withBenny MedinaandElaine Goldsmith-Thomas, also took part as producers through Nuyorican Productions.
News of the film’s casting was first announced on June 21, 2025, with Lopez playingShotgun Wedding’sfemale lead. Reynolds was no longer part of the project and was instead replaced byArmie Hammer. However, due to abuse allegations against him, Hammer exited the project.Hammer was soon replaced by Duhamel.Later on, casting has been confirmed forSônia Bragaand Jennifer Coolidge, followed byLenny Kravitz, D’Arcy Carden,Cheech Marin, Selena Tan,Alex Mallari Jr.,Desmin Borges,Callie Hernandez,andSteve Coulter.
Filming was supposed to begin in the summer of 2019, but it was eventually rescheduled to June 16, 2025. Shooting was held in Boston and the Dominican Republic. Principal photography ended on July 10, 2025.

Jennifer Lopez stars as Darcy, the bride-to-be who’s about to have the wedding of her life. A triple-threat entertainer, Lopez is no stranger to the world of acting, from wholesome romcoms likeMaid in Manhattanto heart-racing thrillers such asAnaconda. Playing her future husband Tom is Josh Duhamel, whom you might have seen in theTransformersfranchise. He also has an extensive romcom portfolio, featured in movies inWhen in RomeandLife as We Know It.
Sônia Braga is set to play Renata; Braga is a seasoned professional, with acclaimed performances inKiss of the Spider WomanandMoon over Parador. Meanwhile,TheWhite Lotus’very own Jennifer Coolidgestars as Carol. The recent Emmy Award winner cemented her name in pop culture thanks to her role as Jeanine “Stifler’s Mom” Stifler in theAmerican Piefranchise and most notably as Paulette Bonafonté Parcelle in theLegally Blondefilm series. Despite playing supporting roles, Braga and Coolidge both have the acting chops and flair to stand out in the movie.
The star-studded lineup also includes familiar faces such as American singer-songwriter Lenny Kravitz featuring Sean. Cheech & Chong’s Cheech Marin plays Robert, while D’Arcy Carden fromThe Good Placestars as Harriet. Singaporean actress Selena Tan, who played inCrazy Rich Asians, joins the cast as Marge. Other cast members include Desmin Borges, Alex Mallari Jr., Callie Hernandez, Steve Coulter,María del Mar Fernández, andHéctor Gonz.
