Cinedigm has released the first trailer forRed Stone, an upcoming indie action-thriller that revolves around good people, bad people, and an important ruby.Red Stonewill release on-demand, digital, and in select theaters on December 3.

The upcoming film is set in a small, remote town in Texas and starsNeal McDonoughas Boon, a deadly hitman who is tasked with tracking down a teenager named Motley, played byDash Melrose, who witnessed the murder of his brother at the hands of a Southern crime lord Jed Haywood (Michael Cudlitz). Now Boon, whose own brother passed away recently, must track down Motley on the same day as his brother’s funeral. Boon only has a few hours to find the kid and make it to the cemetery to pay his respects. As the story unfolds, Boon will go on a spiritual journey of self-discovery about what kind of person he really is. The film also featuresMike Dopud,Dominic Scott Kay, andAlexandria DeBerry.

“Right and wrong are these concepts that we feel we understand so well, yet they can be eerily fluid ideas,” said director and writerDerek Presley.“That theme is at the center of this story, whereRed Stoneexplores the idea that ‘good people’ can do bad things just as easily as ‘bad people’ can do good things. Boon’s character becomes a conduit for any of us, who at one point or another, have said this is not the path we want to follow.” A sequel to the film is already in the works, focusing on McDonough’s character Boon. The actor is set to star, produce, and co-write the script.

A dangerous hitman (Neal McDonough) is tasked with hunting down a teenager who witnessed the murder of his older brother at the hands of a ruthless Southern crime lord (Michael Cudlitz). The hired gun must track down the boy before either the rival henchmen or the F.B.I. find him first. As the hours tick down, the hitman begins to question his deadly ways and must choose which side he belongs to.
