Reachercontinues to throw haymakers — even when its star is catching a few himself. One week afterReacherstarAlan Ritchsonstirred up controversywith a high-profile presidential photo op, the hit Prime Video series is still clinging to a spot in the U.S. Top 10. As of this week,Reacherremains the #7 most-watched show on the platform, proving that not even political backlash can knock Jack Reacher off his feet. For longtime fans of theLee Child adaptations, this is hardly a surprise. But the real shock came last week when Ritchson shared an Instagram post from the Season 4 set — casually featuringPresident Joe Biden,First Lady Dr. Jill Biden, andHunter Biden.

“So our Reacher set got in the way of these legends. Was a privilege and honor to meet the Biden family,” Ritchson wrote in the caption, before adding, “We chatted briefly about simple stuff, like string theory and quantum entanglement. Then Joe beat me at arm wrestling. All in a day’s work.”

Naturally, the comments section exploded. Some fans saw it as a cool behind-the-scenes moment. Others… not so much. Accusations of political grandstanding began swirling almost immediately, with some viewers calling for a boycott. Before long, they were getting smothered under Ritchson memes and clips ofReacher smashing headswith fire extinguishers and his gigantic comedy fists.

What Is ‘Reacher’ Season 4 About?

What’s ironic is that the Season 4 source material —Gone Tomorrow— might be the most politically explosive Reacher story yet. Set in New York City, the plot kicks off with a mysterious death on a subway platform and unravels into a tangled web of government secrets, rogue operatives, and dirty dealings that go all the way to the top. In other words: perfect timing.

The upcoming season, now in production, is set to deliver all the brutal justice fans have come to expect. And Ritchson, controversy or not, remains the beating heart of the show — a fact that’s impossible to ignore given how consistently he’s helped propel the series to streaming success. Season 3 broke records for Prime Video as its most-watched returning series. And while many shows see viewership dip during off-seasons or social media drama,Reacherappears bulletproof. And we’d bet, when the fourth season is back on our screens, viewing figures will be as high as ever.
