When Warner Bros. first announced plans to make anAquamanmovie, it posed a tricky challenge for the superhero genre. Given his colorful swimwear and proclivity for chatting with fishes, the titular character can so easily become the butt of a joke, and the fact that he lives underwater makes crafting an entire live-action feature film around the character difficult. But the picture got off on the right foot whenZack Snyderopted to castJason Momoa, an unlikely choice but one that quite instantly removes the “joke” aspect from the equation....

In last night’s “Tribute,” the big moment was not Oliver openlyacknowledging that Bruce Wayne existsin this CW world somehow, but rather, Oliver handing over the mantle of Green Arrow to someone else: Diggle. Diggle has put on the hood before to help throw off investigations into Oliver being the hero, and of course, Oliver has never been under more scrutiny than now. But what Oliver offers Dig at the end of “Tribute” is not a stunt, but the whole shebang: tobecomethe Green Arrow....

Disney’s live-action musical remake ofBeauty and the Beastis a box office smash, and it’s officially crossed the ultimate benchmark for studio tentpoles – $1 billion at the worldwide box office.Bill Condon’s spin on the beloved Disney animated classic joins the billion dollar club less than a month of landing in US theaters on March 17. The studio sent out a press release announcing its accomplishment, which pointed out that not only had the film become 2017’s first film to cross $1 billion and is now the highest grossing film of the year, it’s also the highest-grossing live-action musical of all time....
