Disney+ has announced its new list of titles that’s coming to the service in April. The world’s misfortune is a streaming service’s gain in the midst of a pandemic that’s causing everyone to stay home. However, for parents struggling to keep their kids at home and entertained, Disney+ is heaven-sent, and they’re probably looking for any new programming to keep the little ones occupied. However, for older viewers, there’s a surprising addition to this month’s line-up....

All things considered, 2024 has been a great year for movies. Multiple exceptional films have been released over the course of the year so far, many of them adaptations. Of video games, of other movies, or—of course—of books. Some of the greatest movies of all time were based on books, and keeping with tradition, this year saw the release of numerous page-to-screen adaptations that turned out wonderful. From films based on true stories, like Disney’sYoung Woman and the Sea, to ones based on iconic fictional novels, likeWicked, 2024 has been a great year foravid bookworms who love seeing their favorite literature turned into equally high-quality cinema....

The Shawshank Redemptionis one ofthe most uplifting dramas ever made, but that’s not because it’s happy the whole time. Like many other great films, the mood has its dark times and lighter times, and the characters have a lot to do with how well these tonal shifts succeed.
