Like all of you, I constantly hear about fantastic shows that I need to watch. I’d argue there has never been so much incredible content on television due to the myriad of streaming channels producing movie quality series. And while you can only watch so much…I want to strongly recommendChris Miller’sThe Afterparty, which is now streaming on Apple TV+. If you haven’t heard of the series, it’s a murder-mystery comedy set at a high school reunion afterparty where each episode features a retelling of the same night told through a different character’s perspective....

Many of those old enough to remember what a burden cable once seemed to be, and plenty young enough to never have truly experienced those days, find themselves similarly longing for the ease and freedom of everything just being on the TV. NotYellowstone, a long-time favorite, being on this service whileThe Last of Us, that new one that’s supposed to be amazing, is on that service, andYou, the thing your spouse has been waiting for, of course, has to be on one of the other thousand streaming services....

One ofDenzel Washington’s films, which many feel is his biggest Oscar nomination snub, just got a major streaming update.American Gangster, the 2007 crime thriller which Washington stars in alongsideRussell Crowe,Chiwetel Ejiofor, andTed Levine, will officially begin streaming on Netflix on September 16. The film tells the story of Harlem drug lord Frank Lucas (Washington) and the New York City outcast police officer (Crowe) who is tasked with bringing him to justice....

Lee Cronin’sEvil Dead Rise, which has recently shot up on Netflix’s top 10 movies list, is a glorious take on one of the best horror franchises ever.Cronin’s sequel was exactly what fans wanted from anEvil Deadmovie, bringing unsettling horror that’s elevated by some of the most creative practical effects in the industry. Not only that, but it included a brand new set of characters, brought brilliantly to life by a new cast of talented actors....

Warner Bros. has released the first poster forMike Flanagan’sDoctor Sleep. The upcoming sequel toThe ShiningstarsEwan McGregoras an adult Danny Torrance as an alcoholic drifter haunted by his past who must use his gift to help a child in a battle between good and evil. This is a cool poster if you’re already familiar withDoctor Sleep. For everyone else, it’s bound to be a little confusing. They’ll likely get the “Redrum” reference, but then just assume the movie is called “Redrum”....

The Netflix library is always in flux, and while there are plenty ofnew movies and TV shows coming to Netflixin June, the streaming service is also saying goodbye to some titles – and with Disney+ on the horizon, some of these are probably gone for good. Jack Blackoften plays characters that allow him to flash his skills in physical comedy while showing off his range as a musician. Despite arguably being typecast as a slacker, Black is anything but. He has already made more than 80 movies in his career and is still going strong at just 52 years old. He has tremendous range, putting out the typical lewd comedies, a few romances, some that tug on the heart strings, and a handful of memorable family movies....

DC and Warner Bros. have released a new series of posters for their upcoming blockbusterJustice League, which will arrive in theaters on November 17th. Where the last major poster for the movie, which will now be a collaborative project betweenZack SnyderandJoss Whedonas directors, featured the team in one place, the latest set shows each character in portrait. There’s a passing similarity with the recent series ofMike Mitchell’sMondoStar Warsportraits and the style is more than suitable to these titans of comic book lore....
