Fargowrapped up with its final season last year, and the show has seen many movie and TV veterans come and go through its five-season run. One of the stars from the first and second seasons ofFargowasAllison Tolman, famed for her role as Molly Solverson. Unlike many other TV shows,Fargobrings in a mostly new cast each season to tell a new story, with names likeBilly Bob Thornton,Jon Hamm, andJason Schwartzmanall coming and going over the years. Tolman never came back after Season 2, but we now know this wasn’t due to a lack of interest. During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Tolman was asked about her time onFargo, and she spoke about it fondly but also recalled how difficult it was to stand on the sidelines after departing the show:
“Standing at the station and watching a train leave that you wanted to be on.That was hard. It was really sad.”
She then revealed that she expressed her interest in coming back to the show at some point, and instead of receiving a response as to why it wouldn’t work, she admits,“no one said anything.”
Allison Tolman may not have had the chance to return toFargo, but her career certainly hasn’t suffered for it. She was recently tapped as one of the leads onSt. Denis Medical, the mockumentary sitcom that’s already been renewed for Season 2 at NBC. All episodes of the first season are streaming onPeacock. She also recently featured in several episodes ofShining Vale, the Starz original series led byFriendslegend and one of the Scream franchise’s most iconic final girls,Courteney Cox. Tolman is also known for her work inKrampus(2015) andThe Gift(2015).
