We got our first look atNoah Hawley’s upcoming FX seriesLegionback in July, when thefirst trailerdropped at Comic-Con, and it promised anX-Mensibling series unlike any mutant adventures that have previously graced our screens. That wasn’t exactly a surprise considering the series comes from the visionary creator behind the consistently surprising, odd, and ineffable Fargo series, but it’s still a joy to see. Now, two new teaser promos have hit the web, offering even more confirmation that Legion is a series that’s not afraid to get weird with it.

Hawley cooked up the series withX-Men: Days of Future PastandApocalypsewriter/producerSimon Kinberg, and the duo are also executive producing alongsideBryan SingerandLauren Shuler Donner. Downton Abbey breakout andThe Guestscene-stealerDan Stevensleads the series as David Haller, a diagnosed schizophrenic who falls for a mutant woman and realizes the voices and visions in his head might just be real. However, it’sAubrey Plazawho gets to shine here, seemingly as a fellow institution mate reveling in a “WTF” moment.

While there’s been a bit of debate about how much connective tissue the series will share with the X-Men movie universe (Hawley described it as “more of a fable”, while Singer said it “will relate to future X-Men movies”), there’s no doubt at this point that it will be entirely unlike anything we’ve seen in that universe before.
