The hitITVcrime dramaGracehas been one of the strongest entries in recent memory in the saturated market ofBritish detective series. StarringDoctor Who’s John Simm as the titular Detective Superintendent Roy Grace, the show has earned millions of fans globally thanks to a dedication to quality over quantity.Currently, Season 5 is airing in the UK to some positive reviews, with two of the four episodes having now been released, and the viewing public kept on a knifedge.

However, despite theongoing success of the fifth season, news that theshow wasrenewed for a sixth outingbefore the fifth had even begunhas sparked the rumor mill into gear, as many try to guess who might appear, when production might begin, and which ofPeter James' books might be adapted. Well, in the first update about the sixth season from beyond the crime scene tape viaRadio Times, starZoë Tapper(Liar), who plays Cleo Morey, has weighed in on how progress on the sixth season is going, and fans might not like what they hear.

When asked what stage of pre-production Season 6 might be in, Morey honestly responded, “We haven’t really seen all the scripts yet, it’s all top secret.“She then joked, “Perhaps they don’t trust us to not tell journalists what’s going to happen next in the series, so they just don’t give us that information.” But exactly what stage are an experienced team such asGrace’s in? Morey adds, “It’s all really kind of gearing up now. We’re in the prep stage, so we’re starting to have costume fittings, and ideas are kind of being mooted around. And then we go down to Brighton in a week or so and have a first read-through. So we’ll get the scripts imminently, but yes, it’s all to play for right now. We don’t quite know where it’s gonna go.”

Who Stars in ‘Grace’ Season 5?

Two episodes in, andGraceis proving yet again to be one of thebest detective shows on British television. The ever-brilliant Simm shines some more as the disheveled detective, joined by the aforementioned Tapper in a strong fifth season cast. Elsewhere in the ensemble are the likes ofRichie Campbell(Top Boy) as DS Glenn Branson,Laura Elphinstone(Chernobyl) as DS Bella Moy,Sam Hoare(Having You) as ACC Cassian Pewe, andBrad Morrison(Outlander). Episode 1 of Season 5, “Dead If You Don’t,” is directed byJon Jonesand penned byJess Williams. As more time goes by, expect even better detailed updates on the exciting sixth season ofGrace.
