What wouldThunderbolts*be without Bob (Lewis Pullman)? While Marvel’s scrappy bunch of anti-heroes banded together to save the day, they in turn were saved byBob’s innocence. So, after the lineup forAvengers: Doomsdaywas announced, the Thunderbolts’ presence in theRobert Downey Jr-led movie became even more meaningful. Fans are now eager to see what happens when Bob’s alter ego aka the Sentry, comes face to face with Doctor Doom (Downey JR), and Pullman has some ideas.

“I was so surprised and honored to hear that I was going to be able to dip my toes into Doomsday,” he said of his casting in the upcomingRusso Brothers-directed movie, who also directed theThunderboltspost-credit scene. In the final moments ofThunderboltsYelena (Florence Pugh), US Agent (Wyatt Russell), Bucky (Sebastian Stan), Red Guardian (David Harbour), and Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen) come together to help Bob aka Sentry, who is struggling with the Void within and engulfing the entirety of New York. After that, it seems like Bob doesn’t remember what happened, and in the post-credit scene, we see he’s doing dishes rather than risking turning into Sentry and letting loose the Void again. Per Pullman, this aspect gives him a lot to play with inDoomsday.

“Because I wasn’t sure how much of his memory was lost, and whether he’s covering, or whether it’s really real and he is fully back at square one. And does that mean that he has to relearn all of these emotional valuable lessons that he’s garnered throughout the course [of this movie]? Or is that something that kind of becomes inherently a part of him? It’s a really interesting thing to grapple with as an actor…It could go in a lot of different directions.”

What to Expect from Sentry in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’?

Sentry is undeniably one of the most powerful heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and Doctor Doom is no less so, for them to come together on the big screen will be a big moment for the fans of the characters. Going by the precedent set by theMighty Avengerscomic run.Sentry should be able to subdue Doom, but it remains to be seen how the Russo Brothers shape this story, that can range from Doctor Doom taking advantage of Sentry’s memory loss to probably working with the New Avengers… for now, it’s anyone’s guess.
