Thankfully, the show is going out with a bang, asAnya Taylor-Joyis taking over hosting duties, whileLil Nas Xwill close up the season as the musical guest.
Carey Mulligan’s hosting duties followed that ofDaniel Kaluuya’s on April 3, and thePromising Young Womanactress kicked things off memorably in her opening monologue with real-life husbandMarcus Mumfordof the band Mumford & Sons making an appearance in the audience to pitch himself as a potential musical guest for the episode. Additionally, Mulliganpoked fun at the “lesbian period drama” subgenrewith films likePortrait of a Lady on FireandAmmonitein a new sketch starring cast membersHeidi GardnerandKate McKinnon.

The last show beforeSNLwent on a month-long hiatus was hosted byNick Jonas. Among the highlights of Jonas’s February 27 episode was a sketch about a case of mistaken identity involving Prince Charming and Cinderella’s glass slipper, an appearance from Jonas’s brother,Kevin Jonas, and an incredible sketch aboutwomen who love Netflix murder shows. And, as if Jonas running around theSNLstage performing in multiple sketches wasn’t enough, he was also the February 27 musical guest, too.
Jonas’s hosting gig capped off a rather terrific February forSNL. Before Jonas,SNLwashosted byBridgertonstarRegé-Jean Page. Page showed off his comedy chops with aBridgertonsketch, a saucy opening monologue, and a sketch dedicated to the transformative power of the British accent. Page’s hosting gig was one of the best episodes thus far in Season 46, with episodes hosted byRegina KingandS chitt’s CreekalumDan Levycoming in close behind.
