The90 Day Fiancéfranchisehad a surprise up its sleeve all along. Thereality show has a new spin-offthat will air in May and, despite what some viewers may think, I am actually really excited about its premiere. The new show will feature several past90 Day Fiancéstarsas they connect with several singles. Some stars are newer, such asRob Warne, but the show will also be introducing some older stars we haven’t seen in a while, likeColt JohnsonandJeniffer Tarazona.
While there are no K-1 visas, the new spin-off piggybacked off of other reality dating shows likeLove IslandandPerfect Matchto give the 90 Day Fiancé alumni a selection of love interests to choose from. From the looks of the previews, the stars will cohabitate with other singles. They’ll engage in various activities in an attempt to connect with the singletons and potentially find their perfect person. The 90 Day Fiancé franchise is known for producing an absurd number of spin-offs, but I think they might hit the nail on the head with the new series.

Unique Type of ‘90 Day Fiancé’ Spin-Off
Over the years, the90 Day Fiancéfranchise has producedover 15 different spin-offs, but if I’m being honest, naming all of them and deciphering between them is difficult, even as a long-term fan. The90 Day Fiancéfranchise can get repetitive with some of its spin-offs.Many of the shows are similar, especially when it comes to the commentary versions like 90 Day Diaries. On top of that, the focus has shifted slightly. While the original premise was to follow international couples on a K-1 visa, the shows have been expanded to a little broader and feature general international couples.
However, this new spin-off branches off from those plot likes. The only real connection to the spin-off to the franchise is the stars. Otherwise, this is much more of a dating show than a reality TV documentary series of sorts and I enjoy dating shows likeLove Is BlindorPerfect Match. Thenew show is going to be different from the other spin-offs, which I think is going to make it really entertaining and exciting. This show is unlike the other spin-offs — evenThe Single Lifedoesn’t compare because this new series is much more of a dating show than it is a dating documentary segment like the original purpose of90 Day Fiancé.

New ‘90 Day Fiancé’ Series Features Villains
However, I’m most excited about this new spin-off because we’ll be seeing some of themost villainous stars in the franchise.Colt Johnson, the franchise mama’s boy who dated three different women on the show, will appear. The last time he was on-screen, he was married toVanessa Guerra, and they moved out to get space from his mother,Debbie Johnson. I’m hoping the new spin-off may give us some clues as to what happened between them. I wonder if Colt couldn’t change his ways and ended up cheating on Vanessa too. Rob Warne will also be on the show, which I guess solidifies that he’s separating for good from his wife. Choosing betweenSophie Sierraand Rob has been difficult. I think they’ve both been wrong countless times over the years.
I also think Rob has shown some improvement, but I do think Rob has more growth to do and being in a tempting environment might reveal how shady he can be. Then there’s alsoUsman ‘Sojaboy’ Umar. Much like Colt, Usman hasn’t been on the series in a while, but he didn’t have the best impressions when he was last seen. He was supposed to be getting married to Kimberly and adopting kids, but his last moments with Kimberly were argument-filled. With the return of some of these stars, hopefully we’ll receive answers as to what happened in their relationships off-screen,but I also think it’ll make for great drama and entertainment since some of these stars are known for the turmoil they bring to the table.

Overall, I think this new90 Day Fiancéseries is different enoughfrom the rest of the show to bring balance to the franchise. Fans have petitioned for more unique spin-offs and I think this is a great compromise. While I’m not the biggest fan of some of the villains, I can’t deny that they add a tremendous amount of drama to the show that makes it more mesmerizing.Overall, this series is more like a Darcy and Stacey spin-off where it can expand itself away from the traditional90 Day Fiancéseries and I think it’ll help improve some of the damage the reputation has earned over the years. 90 Day: Hunt for Love premieres on Monday, May 26th, at 8 PM on TLC.
