As always with theMCU, nothing is set in stone, so all we can do for now is theorize and see what the future is in store for Clint and the rest of the gang. Let’s take a closer look at some of these dangling plot threads and see what kind of tapestry they might weave.
Clint Will Retire For Good
If Clint Barton – AKA Hawkeye – has tried to do anything for years, it’s to get out of the superhero business. At least sinceCaptain America: Civil War, our guy has been over it and trying to get home to spend time with his family. It seems a hero’s work is never done, no matter how much he tries to avoid it. With his Ronin storyline finally resolved, reunited with his family, and Kate Bishop acting as his sidekick throughout the series, Clint is finally given a chance to retire his bow and arrow and put the past behind him.
Doing this will also make Kate Bishop the new Hawkeye, Clint opting to mentor her which will pay off the student-teacher dynamic they shared together. Hawkeye has been around since the beginning andJeremy Rennercan’t simply do the role forever. Much like Robert and Chris, he will need to hang it up at some point, and him passing the torch over to Kate Bishop feels like a natural progression for the character. Hopefully, this theory pans out for season two.

Kate & Yelena Will Pair Up
After Yelena’s journey of being an agent of death to hunt down Clint, her fate has been left unresolved. Now that Yelena knows the truth about her sister’s death, she’s a woman without a mission. Will Yelena move on from her past, or continue to be a killer for hire? There is also the question of whether she’ll hunt down Allegra de Fontaine for misleading her about her sister’s death.

Another theory proposed byRedditor NotTaken-usernameis that Yelena will fight at Clint’s side, and Kate and Yelena will work together. This is the most likely scenario, given Yelena will never be established as the next Black Widow if she kills Clint. With Kate set to become the next Hawkeye, the series seems to be setting her upfor a partnership with Yelena.
William Lopez Was Not Killed By Ronin
It is thought by Maya Lopez that Ronin killed her father William, which transpired her path of vengeance. However,Reddit user LR-IIhas an opposing position; they argue that we “deliberately don’t get a good glimpse at the killer.” They comment further, saying they “never saw the distinctive gold markings on Ronin’s suit”.
Furthermore, they throw in Kingpin’s name, noting how Fisk killed Maya’s father and blame Daredevil. With this, it’s not out of the question that he’d do something similar to take care of Ronin. Another Redditor named ShadowdogProd commented on this theory, saying there’s merit to the theory but it could possibly let Clint off the hook, considering the number of people he’s killed. It’s an interesting theory all-around, and one that holds strong the more you think about it. Was this Ronin somebody else?

Kingpin Is Still Alive
Kingpin’s appearance inHawkeyewas short-lived and a bit anticlimactic for big fans of the Netflix Marvel shows, where Kingpin is a prominent figure. With his big entry into the MCU, fans were craving for more from Kingpin, who was seemingly shot and killed by Maya Lopez on a mission to avenge her father.

However, this may not be the last we see of Wilson Fisk, or Kingpin; in the 2003 graphic novelDaredevil: Parts of a Hole, Maya began in a similar journey of trying to hunt down and kill Kingpin who she believes is responsible for her father’s death and shoots him multiple times. However, Kingpin survives this attack. Given how strong Fisk is in both theDaredevilNetflix series and theHawkeyefinale, it’s possible that he would survive such a situation.
Kingpin Bought the Avengers Tower
In the series, Clint briefly mentions that somebody bought the Avengers Tower after the Blip. However, the identity of the building’s buyer remains a mystery. Who bought it, and is it in the wrong hands?
Some theories suggest that Kingpin bought the tower for unknown reasons. Other theories lead to suggest that Reed Richards bought the tower, leading the path toMCU’s long-awaitedFantastic Four. However, given the timing and appearance of Kingpin, all evidence leads to him buying the tower for unknown, one assumes for malicious reasons.

Clint Barton Killed Echo’s Father
Marvel really seems to hate dads, given the daddy issues we see from Tony Stark, Gamora, and Thor. It was this drama that caused them to try to live up to expectations and lead them down a path of self-destruction and anger.
With this, fans have made a prediction that Clint killed his protege Echo’s father, someone who is down a blind, destructive path to seek vengeance. These predictions have merit, with Clint down a murderous path of destruction in Mexico (perAvengers: Endgame).
