The last timeGen Vfans were at Godolkin University, things took a turn for the worse for some students. Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) and her friends were imprisoned while Cate (Maddie Phillips) and Sam (Asa Germann) were elevated. A small crossover inThe BoysSeason 4 confirmed that Cate and Sam were the new Guardians of Godolkin, but what happened to Marie and her gang?Gen V’s showrunner,Michele Fazekas, toldTV Insiderthat when the show returns forSeason 2,viewers will be immersed in the next chapter of the story. “There’s a time jump,” she revealed at SDCC to the outlet. She teased what’s on the horizon for the characters, saying,
“And everyone starts in a completely different place, and they’re not all together… They’re in a place that we have been told in Season 1 [is] the last place you should want to go, which is called Elmira… Some of them end up there, but not all of them.”

What’s Elmira? That’s one of the mysteries of the season. Everyone has been working hard to achieve a good rank at God U, but Sam and Cate were handed their position, and that won’t sit well with other students. “It’s a little tense. It’s a little awkward. Yeah, it’s not totally peaceful,” Phillips teased.
There’s a New Dean in ‘Gen V’ Season 2
Hamish Linklaterjoins the cast as Dean Cipher, and he’s bad news. He’s heavily featured in the season’s trailer, has something cooking, but no one knows what. “That name [Dean Cipher] should inspire a great deal of confidence in everyone,” Linklater teased. “We’re now in Homelander’s (Antony Starr) America, right? And he’s a Dean for that America,” theMidnight Massstar added. That doesn’t sound good, does it? Speaking toTVLine, series creatorEric Kripkepraised Linklater’s acting. “He’s really scary. I’ve wanted to work with [Hamish] forever. He was so unbelievable in [Midnight Mass]. He’s a very complicated, mysterious character. I’m excited for people to see him.” Below is the season’s official description.
“School is back in session. As the rest of America adjusts to Homelander’s iron fist, back at Godolkin University, the mysterious new Dean preaches a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. Cate and Sam are celebrated heroes, while Marie, Jordan, and Emma reluctantly return to college, burdened by months of trauma and loss. But parties and classes are hard to care about with war brewing between Humans and Supes, both on and off campus. The gang learns of a secret program that goes back to the founding of Godolkin University that may have larger implications than they realize. And, somehow, Marie is a part of it.”

Gen Vreturns on September 17. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
