Jackson, who dated Holmes in real life, shared in a new interview that the cast all came togetherrecently forJames Van Der Beek.But Jackson told theDinner’s on Mepodcast, hosted byModern FamilystarJesse Tyler Ferguson, that even if the cast doesn’t always call each other, they still remain close to one another. “Whether we talk to each other all the time,Busy and Michelle are very, very close. And Katie and I are very close,” he said. “It’s not a daily call, sometimes it’s not a weekly or monthly or even a half-yearly call. Butwhen you’re together, there’s always that.”
He went on to talk about the bond an actor can have with their co-stars, especially in this case,whereDawson’s Creekhelped to change all of their lives. “There is, you know,these major moments in life— other than your husband, there’s probably no other people in your life that you are that forged to,” Jackson said. “‘Cause you had to go through good and bad and happy and ‘F— you’ and ‘Don’t talk to me’ and ‘I love you.'”

Van Der Beek played Dawson on the show and has been a legend on television, starring as himself inshows likeDon’t Trust the B— In Apartment 23.The star revealed that he was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer. On the podcast, Jackson shared that while it wasn’t his idea, the women ofDawson’s Creekorchestrated all getting together to be there for Van Der Beek. “James is going through something really truly terrible right now,” Jackson said. “And I wish I could take credit for this, but I was kind of the absentee partner here, but the girls all got together and were like, ‘We need todo something to help this guy out.'”
