One of the many films to world premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival was directorPatrick Brice’scomedy horror movieCorporate Animals. The film starsDemi Mooreas an egotistical CEO who brings her long-suffering assistants (Jessica WilliamsandKaran Soni) and staff on a corporate team-building exercise to New Mexico led by a local guide (Ed Helms). When they get trapped by an underground cave-in, the disgruntled group must pull together to try and survive. Let’s just say things go off the rails pretty quick.

Shortly before I saw the film, Demi Moore, Ed Helms, Jessica Williams, Karan Soni and Patrick Brice stopped by the Collider studio at the Kia Supper Suite in Park City. They talked about the film’s plot, what attracted them to the project, what scenes scared the shit out of them, what they excited to do, and more. In addition, they revealed what films scared them as kids, what TV show they’d like to guest star on, what got them into the entertainment industry, and more.

I’d also like to take a moment to give special thanks to our Collider Studio partner, the all-new2020 Kia Telluride, which was transporting filmmakers to our studio in celebration of the debut of the all new model, Kia’s first eight-passenger SUV that is several inches longer and wider than the brand’s award-winning Sorento.

Libations flowing at the Collider studio and parties were provided byLIFEWTR, Tequila Comisario, Sensi Tuscany Wines, Blue Moon Belgian WhiteandDragonfly Coffee Roasters. Food during the evening parties was provided byGreene St. Kitchen of Palms Casino Resorthelmed by Chef Du CuisineLanny Chin. Brand partners also active during the day-part includemou, a luxury footwear and accessories line, andThe Wild Immersionendorsed by Jane Goodall who was on-site with the world’s first ‘virtual reserve’.

Here’s theCorporate Animalssynopsis:

To amp up the productivity of her apathetic employees, megalomaniacal CEO Lucy Vanderton (Demi Moore) brings the staff of the Incredible Edible Cutlery Company to the New Mexico desert, where a gung-ho guide (Ed Helms) leads the group on a mandatory “No I in TEAM” retreat. Yet the line between pulling together and pulling each other limb from limb is a thin one.

After Lucy and her team — a disgruntled ensemble including Jessica Williams, Karan Soni, Dan Bakkedahl, Martha Kelly, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Calum Worthy, Nasim Pedrad, and Jennifer Kim — get trapped in a cave, everyone is pushed to the brink as food starts running out and boundaries are crossed. Friend turns on friend, underlings become overlords, and acquaintances could become dinner. As underlying issues with their office culture rise to the surface, these corporate animals must band together to hang on to their humanity - or not.

From writer Sam Bain (Peep Show) and director Patrick Brice (The Overnight, Creep, Creep 2) comes a biting, deeply funny satire of workplace dynamics, office culture, social norms, and oppressive leadership.
