Creep, the independent feature film produced by Blumhouse ProductionsJason BlumandMark Duplass, who co-starred and received story by credit, was divisive when it made the rounds on the festival circuit a few years back. Directed by and co-starringPatrick Brice, the weird little movie found a big audience on Netflix and was long-rumored to be a part of a trilogy. Even if the film doesn’t get a third movie, it looks like it is getting a sequel as Duplass tweeted out, “Trying on wardrobe today forCreep 2. This one is gonna get a little bit weird.” For those who have seen the first, that’s definitely an understatement. Brice was a guest on The New Flesh Podcast where he explained that “there’s been no official announcement” but “it’s out there now and we better make a good movie.”
DP turned directorJohn Leonettiis staying very busy. After directing the box office smashAnnabelle, he quickly moved to his next feature currently in post-production: a Manson family-inspired horror/ thriller titledThe Wolves at the Door. And, while he may be attached to a 50’s era movie musical titledAt The Hopfor his next film, he won’t stray from horror for long: this week we learned that Leonetti would be re-teaming with hisConjuringco-starJoey KingforWish Upon. As Deadline reports,Wish Upon, written byBarbara Marshall(The Listener) follows 16-year-old misfit Claire (King), who finds a magic box that promises a chance at the life she’s always wanted. But she never could have guessed that each wish would demand a deadly payment.”ThirteenandTwilightdirectorCathrine Hardwickewas originally attached to the project before Leonetti took over. The trade also notes that production is set to begin this fall.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX?!

AttentioniZombieandVeronica Marsfriends: it appears thatRob Thomaswill be bringingThe Lost Boysto The CW. The Hollywood Reporter notes that “after a multiple-network bidding war” The CW signed Thomas to develop a new take on the 1987 cult classic. The take is ambitious, noting that the series will take place over seven seasons with each taking on a different decade. If the show goes to series, THR reports that the first will be set in San Francisco during “the summer of love” or, 1967. Each season the series will change from time, place, location, but the vampires will remain the same age.

Just for a bit of fun, last weekKevin Baconresponded to a fan on Twitter who suggested she’d like to see the actor take on the iconic role of Freddy Krueger. When Bacon read her proposition, he replied by saying, I like the way you think Bettie. While this certainly doesn’t mean anything for sure, it’s fun to think about an actor like Bacon taking on the role.
