Hold onto your stetson and cowboy boots because9-1-1, the Los Angeles-based crime procedural is getting a new spin-off.According to Deadline, the 9-1-1 universe will be expanding to none other than Nashville, Tennessee. TheRyan Murphy-created crime drama has been given a series order for the 2025-2026 season. The appropriately titled9-1-1: Nashvillewill be written and executive produced by Murphy,Tim Minear, and9-1-1: Lone StarshowrunnerRashad Raisani. The series will also be executive produced byBrad Falchuk, who co-created9-1-1and9-1-1: Lone Star,as well as executive produced by9-1-1star andLone Starexecutive producerAngela Bassett.

Last fall, there were talks of a spin-off potentially heading to Hawai’i, but those plans have potentially fizzled out, with no news since then. There were also talks of potentially putting a show in Las Vegas as well. All this comes after thecontroversial cancelling of9-1-1: Lone Starafter 5 seasons. Now, Murphy and co are trading the Lone Star state for the Volunteer State. Many states in the Mid-South, including Tennessee and Kentucky, are offering tax credits to bring production crews to the areain a mutually beneficial arrangement, which may have sweetened the deal for Murphy and others behind9-1-1: Nashville.

When Was Something Last Set in Nashville?

The last big series to be set in Nashville and the setting be just as much a character as the characters themselves was the series aptly named:Nashville. The television series ran for 6 seasons from 2012-2018 starringConnie Britton,Hayden Panettiere, among others. The drama zeroed in on the country music star lifestyle with a reigning queen of country music, Rayna James (Britton) dealing with the pressure to stay relevant with stars like Juliette Barnes (Panettiere) up and coming in the country music industry. Often nicknamed “Dallasin Tennessee” the show maintains positiveRotten Tomatoesscores across all 6 of its seasons with an overall 91% for the series.

With Murphy setting this new9-1-1series in Nashville, there’s any number of angles it could take. No cast have currently been announced. Who will fall in love with an up-and-coming country artist? Who will have to save someone from an inevitable pile-up on the Briley Parkway?Who will be the first character to accurately complain about the traffic coming into town from Goodlettsville?Hopefully all these questions will be answered soon as the series is slated to premiere this fall.
